Tiphen Allen’s diary was purchased by the Dickinson College Archives and Special Collections. It was brought to the attention of the college by an alumnus who had seen the diary through a manuscript dealer online at www.autographdomain.com. The alumnus emailed the President of the College, Bill Durden who then contacted Jim Gerencser, the Special Collections Librarian. It was purchased with the funds from the Friends of the Library organization.
