Sarah Rowe was born in Philadelphia, Pa on April 8,1912. Her parents names were Frank Bradbury Rowe and Edna Katherine Hosler. She was affiliated with the Methodist Church. Sarah attended Germantown High School and although it was against her wishes she matriculated to Dickinson College. Upon her father's request she attended college and graduated in 1934 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She later became head of the hymnal department of the Westminster Press, Executive of Philadelphia Association for Retarded Children, Member of the English Department at Drexel University, and she also worked closely with the author Pearl Buck in writing a bibliography. Sarah kept close contact with Dickinson College especially the music department. She requested sheet music several times to record a song list. Sarah was never married but her writing kept her busy until her death October 3, 1992.
