Eleanor Peters was born in Gardner's, Pa on July 14, 1911. Her parents names were Earl Peters (deceased) and Marrian Virginia Fell. She attended Carlisle High School and upon graduation entered Dickinson College were she earned her Bachelor of Philosophy Degree in 1934. She was able to teach English Rhetoric and Literature, German, and History. She student taught at Carlisle High School while in College for a Junior English class. Upon graduation she was 5'3" and 110 lbs. She later married Hiram V. Bower from the class of 1934 and became a housewife.
