This image was taken from Paul J. Westhaeffer's book, "History of the Cumberland Valley Railroad, 1835-1919" (Ephrata, PA: Washington, D.C. Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society, 1979). It shows a Cumberland Valley Railroad train passing through the town square on High Street. Tiphen might have taken this same line to Harrisburg on his route home. The image was originally taken from Sherman Days, "Historical Collections of Pennsylvania."
