The six women pictured here, in front of the Alumni Gymnasium, were
all members of the 1963 Dickinson College cheer leading corps. Patricia
Anne Hitchens (front row center) was the captain of the Cheerleaders during
the 1962-1963 school year. In clockwise order around Hitchens, other
members shown are Linda Ashcraft, J. Meyers, Nancy McAnewey, Judy Elder
and Jill Toy. Unlike the earlier days of the "College
Noise," specialist cheer leading at Dickinson was now almost exclusively
a female tradition.
