The McIntire Literary Society is an all female society named after Professor
Bradford
McIntire who held the Thomas Beaver Professorship of English literature
at Dickinson College for 40 years. The society was founded in 1919 and
had 26 members in 1934. The society aimed to explore and further self-expression
and to study literature in-depth. The goup also promoted unity and fellowship
through various social activities such as the Christmas party they had.
