The College Band was an integral part of the college's moral in 1934. It
has since diminished and become obselete, but did once flourish. It was
under the direction of Ralph
Schecter, who was also the director of the Orchestra
at the time. Ralph Thompson was President, Robert Haigh was Sec/Treas,
James MacAdoo was Student Leader, and Harold Canada was Librarian. The
band was present at all college events and assemblies as well as all home
football games. It also travelled to the Franklin and Marshall game annually.
The band played at basketball games as well and also helped to celebrate
the college's sesquicentennial anniversary. It stated in the 1934 Micrcosm
that "during the football season the band put the pep in "pep" meetings."
