West Point Cadets in California. Around the time of the
Great Earthqauke of 1906, the students of the U.S. Military Academy at
West Point, NY were sent to California to train and examine the damage
to assist them in their engineering training.

Ft. Mason was located between the current Golden Gate Bridge and
the Dock District of San Fransico to provide defense from hostilities from
the sea.
