This is a photograph of Ingrid Barclay,
a Dickinson freshman, in action against Susquehanna University at home
on Biddle Field during the 1986 season. The final score in this match was
an impressive 16-0 victory. Barclay is attacking the west goal of the then
varsity field, while in the background can be seen the men's varsity team
practicing and, beyond, the Kline Center across High Street.
The 1986 season women's soccer were, as a team, very aggressive considering
the novelty of women's varsity at Dickinson. The Head Coach Al Masland,
had a varsity team with no seniors. Captains Dierdre James who was a Junior
and Maggie Huckans, a sophomore, led the team to a record of 6-8-2.
