This photo of Old East was taken in 1950.  This is where the men lived at Dickinson College for much of the College history.  It also housed the president and fraternities.  Now it is the home of the humanities departments.

This picture was taken before the actual construction of Drayer had started.  In this photograph William Edel is showing plans to a member of the faculty.

This photo was taken from the back side of Drayer.  As you can see, the porch has not yet been finished.

This is another view of the back side of Drayer.  The balcony still has not been finished.  One can see how big the hall was going to be from this picture.

Here is the Dining Hall in Drayer.  From the picture you can see that only females ate here.  This was used until the Holland Union Building was built in 1964.

One of the lounges in Drayer.  These rooms were very spacious and very popular place for students to gather and socialize.

Drayer Balcony 1955

This is a view from Drayer Balcony.  This is another place for students to come and visit especially when the weather is nice.  From the top of the balcony one can see the whole residential quadrangle, High Street and the Dickinson School of Law, which is located in the background of this picture.  Currently, in 1999, a very popular outdoor stage for musical events.

Drayer Basement 1955

Another photo of another lounge.  This one was located in the basement.  Again one can see how big these lounges really were.  The increase in the size of the student body over the past few decades has seen these area broken up into residence rooms, sadly.
