List of Possible Names for the New Residence Hall

1.  Charles Nisbet, the first President of Dickinson College.  Became president in 1784.

2.  Roger Brooke Taney:  He was the Dickinson's former Chief Justice of the United States.

3.  James Buchanan:  Fifteenth President of the United States and a graduate of the College.

4.  Horatio King:  Outstanding alumni service, Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor winner.

5.  Lemuel Towers Appold:  Graduated from the college in 1882 and became a distinguished lawyer and banker in Baltimore, Maryland.

6.  George Edward Reed:  Former President of the college, elected in 1889.

7.  James Henry Morgan:  Former President of the college, elected in 1914.

8.  Mervin Grant Filler:  Former President of the college, elected in 1928.
